I directed and Dp’d these music videos. I love the creative freedom you have with shooting a music video and the ideas and techniques you can use to bring a visual story to a piece of music.

Wildlife Cinematography
I spent almost two years shooting in various location of the South Island of New Zealand for for Asahi Tv Japan. The brief started out simple.. ” shoot everything”. The brief then developed into prioritising more technically dynamic motion control establishers as well as everything else that walked, flew or swam into my line of sight.
Since this opportunity I have decided this is what I would like to do in the future. I love shooting wildlife and generally prefer to be in the out doors.
To help me achieve this goal I have invested significant time and money into building my camera kit to help me perform some of the ridiculous movements that were once a fantasy back when I was shooting the below clips.
It’s a whole new world now. I have a x6 axis camera crane dolly that can perform anything I can imagine all while carrying my Red V Raptor 8k VV. I can scale up or down depending on the required movement and carry my kit into the wilderness or via helicopter. It’s one of a kind and build with the help of my friend who just happens to be an award winning design engineer.
Bring on more future projects like this!
Alpine Cinematography
After following winter for 10 years as a professional snowboarder I was forced to pivot.
I had a severe concussion and was told I probably shouldn’t continue on that path anymore… So I explored the realm of film making through friends that had filmed me in the past. They showed me the ropes, I became an apprentice and worked my way into the industry.
Since then I have had various roles in this varied industry, but one of the common skill sets that regularly takes me to the higher end of film production has also planted me back on a snowboard which I love and will never get over.
I was Line Director for the on-snow imagery in this NBC Olympic Super Bowl TVC
I Directed and Produced ‘Hidden Mountain’ for Redbull NZ and Redbull media house. It didn’t quiet follow the script, but due to injuries it was cut short.. such is the life of professional athletes.
I Directed and DP’d this brand film under AJ Films for Descente Global
I shot some the New Zealand portion of this action piece and edited the film for Roland Morley Brown and The North Face.
I directed and DP’d many years of ‘Diaries Downunder’. The series and the team will always hold a special place in my heart. This is also where I started filming.
Night Fury was my first short film for Red Bull. It is by far the hardest thing I have ever tried to pull off. One month of shooting in Japan, all at night, with a fictional storyline… that saved us in the end because everyone got injured.
New Zealand Tourism| Winter campaigns
I was brought in to shoot aspirational ski and board content through Diaries Downunder for Destination Queenstown which has now been used across multiple tourism brands.
Women’s Rugby World Cup | World Rugby | Whisper TV
I was brought on to DP and assist in Directing the Nz portion of this TVC for World Rugby. Randomly although I wouldn’t look it I do have a back ground in Rugby as I played rugby my whole childhood and through my teens, finishing up playing Wing for the 1st XV for Tauranga Boys College in 1999.
It was awesome to work with such a good crew and a big thanks to the talented ladies of Auckland Rugby for putting on such a powerful performance both on and off the field.
SYRP – Battery Bank
I was brought on to line direct/DP the forest segment in this campaign for SYRP’s latest toy, The Syrp Battery Bank. This little guy is a power house and has been with me ever since.
Bay Patrol TVCs
I was brought on to DOP three TVCs for Bay Patrols sponsors TSB BANK, KFC and TOYOTA FINANCE…. links available on request otherwise unavailable online
Manfrotto Gimbal

Torpedo 7 | Krager
Once again i’ve been invited to shoot and edit a few pieces for Torpedo 7 by the legends at Krager.
First up was a morning with Two of new Zealand youngest up and coming starts in the snow sports world Cam and Fin Melville Ives. Keep an eye out for these two, they’ll be making a big splash in the near future.
Rydges -AKL-WGN
It’s been great to work the awesome people at Event in some of their luxury accommodations.
So far I’ve contributed to the Qt Hotels in Wellington and Queenstown as well as Rydges Auckland and Wellington shoots with Sydney Airport coming up in November of this year. Crew is key, and in this case I’m very lucky to be involved in something creative with this good group of humans.
Some of the moments we’ve captured can be found at the Rydges and Qt Hotels websites

Icebreaker Home & Growers
Thanks to the team at Icebreaker I was invited to shoot and edit these pieces for their content pool. It was a real treat to spend time on these southern farming stations with the families who own and run them. They are very down to earth, pleasant people to be around and work with, and I’d love to get out there again sometime and experience what New Zealand is all about.

Mitchell’s Collagen Repair
Here’s a short clip I put together for Mitchell’s Collagen Repair.
I wouldn’t advise running up Mt Maunganui with a Red, Ronin2 and Cine lenses.
We shot this piece in 2 hours due to talent availability, so very much a run’n’gun style shoot.
The idea was to capture and build on the intensity through out the clip.
