Women’s Rugby World Cup | World Rugby | Whisper TV

I was brought on to DP and assist in Directing the Nz portion of this TVC for World Rugby. Randomly although I wouldn’t look it I do have a back ground in Rugby as I played rugby my whole childhood and through my teens, finishing up playing Wing for the 1st XV for Tauranga Boys College in 1999.

It was awesome to work with such a good crew and a big thanks to the talented ladies of Auckland Rugby for putting on such a powerful performance both on and off the field.

SYRP – Battery Bank

I was brought on to line direct/DP the forest segment in this campaign for SYRP’s latest toy, The Syrp Battery Bank. This little guy is a power house and has been with me ever since.

Bay Patrol TVCs

I was brought on to DOP three TVCs for Bay Patrols sponsors TSB BANK, KFC and TOYOTA FINANCE…. links available on request otherwise unavailable online

Torpedo 7 | Krager

Once again i’ve been invited to shoot and edit a few pieces for Torpedo 7 by the legends at Krager.

First up was a morning with Two of new Zealand youngest up and coming starts in the snow sports world Cam and Fin Melville Ives. Keep an eye out for these two, they’ll be making a big splash in the near future.

Rydges -AKL-WGN

It’s been great to work the awesome people at Event in some of their luxury accommodations.

So far I’ve contributed to the Qt Hotels in Wellington and Queenstown as well as Rydges Auckland and Wellington shoots with Sydney Airport coming up in November of this year. Crew is key, and in this case I’m very lucky to be involved in something creative with this good group of humans.

Some of the moments we’ve captured can be found at the Rydges and Qt Hotels websites

Descente Brand and 2019 Swiss ski Campaign

After a very busy winter shooting mainly out of town I was fortunate enough to be asked by AJ Films to return for another year to Direct, Dop and edit Descente‘s latest Brand video along with the Swiss ski campaign which is shot with various members from the Swiss ski team as they trained in the southern hemisphere.

Icebreaker Home & Growers

Thanks to the team at Icebreaker I was invited to shoot and edit these pieces for their content pool. It was a real treat to spend time on these southern farming stations with the families who own and run them. They are very down to earth, pleasant people to be around and work with, and I’d love to get out there again sometime and experience what New Zealand is all about.

Mitchell’s Collagen Repair

Here’s a short clip I put together for Mitchell’s Collagen Repair.
I wouldn’t advise running up Mt Maunganui with a Red, Ronin2 and Cine lenses.
We shot this piece in 2 hours due to talent availability, so very much a run’n’gun style shoot.
The idea was to capture and build on the intensity through out the clip.

Steamer Wharf 2017

A piece I put together for the businesses that fall under the Steamer wharf company/location in Queenstown back in the summer of 2017. After a few last minute title requests were added, it has finally been released and features on their website and used within social media.
Producer: Nick Hyne
Drone pilot: Josh Dunn @ overview.co.nz

Descente 2018

Last winter I shot and edited these pieces for Descente Japan, Korea & China.

We didn’t have the luxury of shooting what we wanted when we wanted, instead we worked amongst an everyday training session with members of the Swiss Ski team and shot separate scenes with talent all over Coronet Peak.

Mt Ruapehu Spring Campaign 2018

I was the dop on this shoot.

It can get tricky when you’re trying to make a mountain look a certain way. In this case the mountain was Mt Ruapehu, which is known for its unpredictable weather pattern . Its basically a large storm magnet, that sucks in anything passing by. Even with massive high over the whole country the mountain can often still have a 10km ring of thick cloud around or even worse be snowing.

In this case it needed to look like spring, so warm, fun with soft snow and  a lot of sunshine and blue sky.

After 3days often filled with long stretches of waiting in very low visibility, we got what we needed.

In saying all this, which i’m sure comes across quiet negatively, it is the best mountain in New Zealand when all the stars align.
